Luis Von Ahn is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. His areas of interest include techniques for utilizing the computational abilities of humans, such as games in which people collectively solve large-scale problems that computers cannot yet solve. He is also interested in human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and the difference in computational abilities between humans and computers, theoretical cryptography and security, and computer science theory in general.

Von Ahn holds a BS in Mathematics from Duke University, and an MS and PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
