Hi, I’m Monique.
I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Interaction Design at Carnegie Mellon University.
I’m originally from the Bay Area and moved around quite a bit when I was younger. I’ve lived in multiple states and even in other countries such as Belgium and Hong Kong. These experiences made me an observer of people and intrigued by diverse communities and cultures. Today, I approach design problems with this same level of curiosity.
I eventually moved to New York where I attended Parsons School of Design. I majored in Strategic Design Management and Thinking which provided me with a strong background in visual design, design research and the design process.
I’ve spent most of my professional career in luxury goods marketing. Most recently, I worked in Advertising and Creative Services at Vera Wang. While there, I began to see how technology was transforming a number of areas within the retail and luxury goods markets.
Since then, I’ve become fascinated with the idea of leveraging design and technology to create unique and engaging experiences between people and the things they interact with.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling off the beaten path, taking pictures, yoga and spotting random puppies.
