• Students can interact with each other as they scroll through the feed of images and videos surrounding a trending hashtag, annotate them together and save it to their own Facebook profiles.
  • Campus events surrounding the trending hashtag will be shown on the wall. Students can scroll through them, choose the ones to attend, and the event automatically syncs with their Facebook profiles where they get notified.
  • Facebook's new feature, the purple hashtag, leads users to the wall and is their entryway to the product. Once they tap their phone to sign in at the wall, however, their Facebook mobile app will be blocked from any activity so they are prompted to interact with the wall and be physically engaged.

Facebook Campus Wall

Julia Wong

A concept proposal for a Facebook product that allows engagement and interaction both online and in a physical location — an interactive physical Facebook wall on college campuses. In light of clicktivism among millennials, where activism is reduced to online petitions with little follow up actions, the primary goal of the product is to build stronger ties among college students based on the belief of a common cause and location, and promote meaningful offline collaboration in civic engagement.
