Please join us for another edition of our Design Lecture Series with Deroy Peraza and his lecture "Branding Pete 2020" on March 8, 2021 at 12pm.
A behind the scenes look into branding one of the Democratic candidates for President.
Deroy walks through the process of branding Pete Buttigieg's campaign from the day Hyperakt received a phone call from his campaign manager and political director to the day the campaign officially unveiled the brand and beyond. The talk describes the exhilarating roller coaster ride of a type of branding project unlike any other.
This edition of the Design Lecture Series will be hosted on Zoom. If you are unable to RSVP or access Zoom we will also be livestreaming this lecture on the School of Design's Facebook page. Please RSVP below in order to recieve the Zoom information prior to the lecture:
A cheerleader, mentor, and motivator, Partner and Creative Director Deroy Peraza leads Hyperakt with a whole lot of heart. Celebrated by his team for building trust, providing room to play, and sparking creativity with his infectious optimism, Deroy pushes both the studio and our clients to be bold. His passion for design as a tool for social change began while living in Barcelona and was fueled by the politics that separated him from his country of birth and extended family: the political extremes between communist Cuba and conservative Miami. He has spent the past two decades designing brands and digital experiences for some of the world's leading nonprofits, foundations, and social impact initiatives.
Deroy was a professor at Parsons School of Design (his alma mater) for four years, and has given talks for Brand New, AIGA, Type Directors Club, and the UN Refugee Agency. He and his family reside in central Brooklyn, where they keep busy playing soccer, hosting goofy family-band concerts, and fostering empathy and creativity for the next generation.
