The Master’s of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services (MII-PS) is a one-year professional degree for students with a design, engineering or business background or previous experience in these areas. The program unites three disciplines to cross-train students to become elite innovators.
Our MII-PS program focuses on the creation of products, services, and interactive experiences that exceed user expectations. The program excels at giving engineers, designers, and those in related fields the skills and knowledge they need to become accomplished practitioners and leaders in the product development process. Our program takes advantage of CMU’s history in design and engineering, as well as its pioneering work in the field of integrated product development.
Offered jointly by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Design with support from the Tepper School of Business, the program immerses students in an interdisciplinary environment at both the program and university level. Access to the university's seven world-class schools and colleges helps students tailor their MII-PS experience to meet their unique personal and professional goals.
The Master’s of of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services program has consistently been ranked in the top three Best Graduate Programs in Industrial Design by U.S. News and World Report, and is one of the Top 30 World’s Best Design Programs as reported by Businessweek magazine for its integration of design, business, and engineering.
