Nexus/Next Us - School of Design Symposium

Carnegie Mellon University challenges the curious and passionate to imagine and deliver work that matters. This year, as we look for new ways to evolve creativity for evolving creatives, the School of Design proudly presents Nexus/Next Us, our Design Symposium on September 12th, 2025.
Diving into the many facets of creativity, we’re bringing together thought leaders across design to look towards the future of human experience. Our aim is to inspire and equip forward-thinking designers and creatives with new perspectives while fostering meaningful connections between students and industry leaders. Through engaging discussions and thought-provoking insights, we seek to spark innovation and shape the future of design and technology.
This Symposium is a new extension of the School of Design Lecture Series, which is a program that brings prominent designers to campus from around the world each year for robust discourse and exchange on topics as diverse and wide ranging as the speakers themselves.
Check back regularly as we showcase our speakers.
Our entire School of undergraduates, masters students, PhD candidates, faculty and staff are invited to attend as we kick-off the academic year more inspired than ever about the power of design. We also welcome local professionals that have a connection to the School of Design to join us.
Due to limited space, we ask that you register and mark your calendars. Registration will open on August 1st.
