Alexander Polzin

Alexander's research investigates the design and use of various sensing technologies and AI within extractive industries to surface design practices that can lead toward greater sustainability, particularly around timber and the "smart" forest.
His professional work is situated at the intersection of business, design and technology, most recently as part of McKinsey & Co.'s digital and innovation practices. Previously he also worked with publishers in emerging markets to foment digital publishing and make their content available on e-readers and mobile phones.
He holds master's degrees from Northwestern University (MBA + MS in Design Innovation) and the Universitat de Barcelona (MA in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities) and has completed graduate work at the London School of Economics and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
