Uluwehi Mills
Aloha mai,
I'm a Maui-based multi-disciplinary designer, design engineer and innovation strategist. I specialize in working with growing organizations whose missions advance education, equity and social health. I meet organizations where they are, and help them make high-leverage decisions to advance and systematize their design practice to meet their goals. I currently work as a design consultant while working part-time on my MDes Thesis, after spending the previous 2 years leading the design practice at a Series B fintech startup.
I'm in the final year of my thesis research, focusing on the intersection of indigenous knowledge and digital systems, and conducting my field work from my home on Maui. I'm also a recent graduate of the Purple Maiʻa Foundation's Ka Maka ʻĪnana cohort V, which trains Hawaiʻi-rooted practitioners in ethical design in a Hawaiian context.
