It's Design Week for Spring 2024!  Design Week is when we celebrate an entire semester's worth of our students' work, with a full week of shows, presentations, displays, and open studios.  Please join us and see what the future of design looks like!

Unless otherwise noted, all events are open to the public.

Monday 4/29/24

11:00am - 1:00 pm - Designing Experiences for Learning
MMCH 215
Based on an investigation of learning theories and approaches, students designed experiences that teach important concepts in informal learning contexts. They engage people in educational activities through meaningful, memorable, and enjoyable interactions with information. Come check out their work! Presentations 11-12; hands-on activities 12-1.

A show dedicated to the amazing Calligraphy work that comes from Myrna Rosen's classes over the past academic year as well as work from the new Printmaking class, taught by Stephen Leon.

Open format table-top demos by the Product Design juniors showcasing three exercises: Objects to Navigate the Afterlife, Polytemporal Objects, and Sublime Devices (re-routed paper radios).

2:30pm - 3:30pm - Prototyping for Interaction Design

Join us for a showcase of projects from the semester, including digital mobile prototypes; laser cut light prototype projects; and independent iterative prototyping projects on topics from data visualization to AI assistants to speculative futures to facilitating charged conversations and more.

3:00pm - 4:30pm - Design Studies: Power

Open session to come talk with the students about their work in Power and see the collaborative book that they will be making in the session!

4:00pm - 6:00pm - Process Potluck

A showcase titled "Potluck Around & Find Out." View the processes we explored, read our insights, and try a collaborative prompt for yourself!

3:00pm - 5:00pm - Designing with CARE: Co-Creating Solutions for Complex Care Coordination in Oncology

Throughout the semester, students have been crafting solutions to enhance cancer care delivery within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. Together, our primary goal has been to investigate how 'small wins' can plant the seeds for a holistic approach to complex cancer care coordination.
