The School of Design is a special place and we welcome the opportunity to have you experience what makes us great. This year, since the university has decided to cancel all admission related on-campus visits and group tours for the foreseeable future (https://admission.enrollment.cmu.edu/pages/visit), we are working out plans for virtual visits to meet with you whether you are currently in the application process or looking towards applying in the future. During these visits you can meet members of our community, talk to current students, and tour our facilities. In addition, online live Virtual Campus Tours are available for Registration here: https://admission.enrollment.cmu.edu/pages/cmu-online-visit.
Undergraduate Program Visits
While on-campus tours and in-person events are on hold, interested students can also take part in our Design Info Sessions. The School of Design provides a live information session that is open to all potential applicants during the fall. This information session, recorded for later access through our website, is delivered by faculty and staff and provides an overview of the school, its programs, examples of work, and the studio experience. Register through the Turn Tartan Experience site.
Graduate Program Visits
Prospective graduate students can visit with us two times a year —once in mid-November and again in late March. Visitors' Days are planned and scheduled according to the best opportunities for you to learn more about the work taking place here, and to interact with our core faculty and current students. To get started on planning your visit and to reserve your place, see the visitor information pages for the Master’s Programs and/or Doctoral Programs.
