Everything Must Go - The Class of 2026 Senior Show

Everything Must Go is the Carnegie Mellon University School of Design Class of 2026’s collective senior show. It is a culmination of four years of work across three disciplines in design from 36 designers, represented through hundreds of projects.

The School of Design curriculum is defined by three tracks:  Products, Communications, and Environments. Our first year, we bonded over nights filled with balsa wood models, shadow puppets, and beetle drawings, a foundational year to acclimate us to the school. Splitting off into our tracks then allowed us space to hone our craft and discover our individual strengths and tastes. Our final year, we have come back together with the full force of new experiences and aspirations.

Everything Must Go celebrates work from across these four years, capturing moments both in and out of the classroom where we’ve built and collaborated in pursuit of progress, incorporating our individual passions along the way.

Our senior show is also a celebration of us, and a bittersweet goodbye. In the four years we've been together, our class has created countless memories and lifelong friendships. From cake potlucks to hiking trips to fashion shows, all the things we have learned not only as designers, but as young adults, are intangibly meaningful.

Now, we’re ready to set off on our own paths, shaped by our time here, the lessons we’ve carried forward, and our unique ways of seeing. Beneath the color and spectacle of this exhibition is an acknowledgment that this moment is fleeting, this space a brief pause at the end of a rapidly closing chapter. Nevertheless, through this glimpse into the four years of sweat, tears, and love we’ve poured into our work, we hope to share just how excited we are for what comes next.

Everything must go, because something else is about to begin.
