Design Software Tutoring
Welcome to the Design Software Help Program, which provides software tutoring to any student in the School of Design who would like additional help learning software programs.
This link is a list of Design students who qualify to help students learn a range of different software. If you are a Design student and would like some extra help with software, contact one of the tutors on the list and they will be back in touch to arrange a meeting that can last from 1/2 to a full hour.
Only members of Carnegie Mellon University will have access to the link
Interested in becoming a tutor?
Interested students must meet the following requirements:
- You need a 3.0 QPA. IF you are below a 3.0 QPA, you need to email Jamie Kosnosky with your reasons for wanting to be a tutor with assurance that this will not interfere with school work.
- While we do not encourage First-Years to be tutors, you may apply to the program at the end of the fall semester if you have at least a 3.0 QPA.
- Applicants need to list a Design faculty member who knows your abilities with software.
- If you are accepted to be a Design Tutor this semester, you will not need to reapply during the remainder of the academic year. You will have to reapply at the beginning of the next academic year. You also need to maintain a 3.0 QPA. You may take your name off the Tutor list at any time.
- If you were a Design Tutor last year, you do not need to get faculty references again.
- Your pay is $12/hour. You should work in 1/2 hour increments and not work more than two hours/week. If there is a reason to work more than 2 hours in a week, please see the Business Manager in the Design Office.
