Portraits of a Housewife

This oversized booklet of photographs illustrates the experience of being a housewife through fantastical metaphors. It features photos of five different characters that each represent an aspect of my mother’s experience. The project aims to capture the dualities of being a housewife—the romanticization and stigma, beauty and tragedy, joy and pain. I directed the photo shoots and served as the art director, model, makeup artist, stylist and set stylist. The booklet is unbound so the spreads can also act as posters.
